Nobody rehearses all those times except the directors.
So let's say the Smith family has two kids in a show Jackson is 17 and Mildred is 7.
During week 1, the Smith family is camping. And Jackson has a boys camp during week 4. Not to worry, they can still do Broadway Kidz.
Neither kid will be in act 1. But Jackson will likely be in acts 2, 3, and 5. Mildred being so little may only do two or three numbers. They may be the same as Jackson, they might not. Her role could also appear in week 4 unless she will be gone during boys camp week as well.
Neither Smith child will need to rehearse Act 1.
During week 2, Mildred will probably rehearse for 45 minutes twice that week. Jackson may rehearse for an hour or so, two or three times that week.
During week 3, they will likely rehearse a couple time for the new numbers. And have a review for the things they learned in act 2.
During week 4, there will be reviews of the things they learned in acts 2 and 3, but it's OK. They told us they would be gone and we'll get them caught up on the things they missed during week 6.
Hopefully everybody how auditions can be the review and polish weeks. Also, everybody will be required to be there for the dress rehearsals.
And so it goes, letting us know when a kid has to be gone. We understand, summer is a busy time. We will do everything we can to make sure that everybody is prepared. In the end, all that matters is that the kids have had enough rehearsal to be fully successful in the performance.
