Director's Notes

When my 30 year old son was about 16 he spent an evening singing Philip Phillip's home while carrying the no 15 year old twins on his back.  I thought at the time, they see him as a real horse.  I could do something with this.  Years later this show was born in my mind.  

​

This show was first performed at Draper Amphitheater in 2017.  Little did I know that the older kids' roles would become dream roles for those who were quite little at the time.  This show is quite personal to us McClellans.  It is inspired by actual events in our lives but then became an inspiration for other events, fun and ways that we collectively see the world in the years since.  

​

I hope all of you will feel attached as we do to the at least one of the Parker children, also that you will never hear "Born to be Wild" again without howling.
